I have to acknowledge with thanks receipt of your letter of the 8th inst., and shall be obliged if, in accordance with the second paragraph thereof, a cable communication may be sent to the Governor of Hongkong, asking him to forward the revised terms by mail as early as possible.
My clients express the hope that his Excellency will in the revised agreement, go to the utmost length in grant- ing favourable terms and conditions, and that a new spirit of mutual co-operation and confidence will enable this very diffi- cult business to be brought to a prompt and satisfactory con- clusion, so that the Development scheme can go forward success- fully for the benefit of theColony.
Might the sense of
this be included in the cable, please?
I formally undertake to defray the cost of the cable by return of post on hearing from you the amount thereof.
Yours truly,
Pervertsuust.
